In the mayor's race, after eight years of awful, anti-worker, anti-union GOP rule, AFSCME's PEOPLE Committee endorsed the current State Auditor, Democrat Tim Keller, in an eight-person race.  Keller garnered 39.4% of the vote on Tuesday, and in the November 14th runoff will oppose incumbent Republican City Councilor Dan Lewis, who received 22.9% of the vote.

The total Democratic vote share was 63%, while the only three true Republicans running combined pulled only 33% of the vote.  Keller is by no means guaranteed to win the November 14th runoff, especially since the business and developer communities will put hundreds of thousands behind Lewis, but if his Democratic opponents rally behind him and progressive enthusiasm carries over six weeks from now, he is in an excellent position. VOLUNTEER TODAY!

AFSCME-endorsed Cynthia Borrego for City Council District 5 can also win the November 14th runoff against Republican Robert Aragon with our support!
