DPNM Labor Caucus Holiday Party a Hit

The Democratic Party of New Mexico Labor Caucus held its first ever holiday party and CD-1 candidate meet and greet yesterday in Albuquerque, and it was a huge hit.  Over the course of the last six months, the new leadership of the DPNM Labor Caucus has worked aggressively to revitalize the labor caucus and get more union members and supporters involved.

Roughly 200 union members and supports packed O'Niells Pub last night to for the holiday party and CD-1 candidate meet and greet.  The event would not have been a success without all of the sponsors, AFSCME and the DPNM Labor Caucus would like to thank our federal delegation, Senator Tom Udall, Senator Martin Heinrich, Congressman Ben Ray Lujan, and Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham for their support and contribution to the DPNM Labor Caucus.

AFSCME and the DPNM Labor Caucus also want to thank all of our amazing candidates for attending and also for their generous contribution, Pat Davis, Debra Haaland, Damian Lara, Damon Martinez, and Antionette Sedillo Lopez.   Please feel free to click on their name if you would like to visit their campaign website to learn more.

"We are extremely excited about having so many pro-labor, pro-worker candidates running in CD-1.  I know labor is going to do everything we can to make sure CD-1 stays blue in 2018,' said Connie Derr, Executive Director for AFSCME Council 18 and Recording Secretary for the DPNM Labor Caucus.

Finally, the event would not have been a success without all of the other sponsors who generously donated raffle items.  Thank you to Mayor Tim Keller, Majority Leader Sheryl Williams Stapleton, Debra Haaland, O'Niells Pub, Satellite Coffee, Marble Brewery, Boese Brothers Brewery, Red Door Brewing, Simms Fitness, Sandia Crossfit, AFSCME Council 18, Sheet Metal Workers local 49, Albuquerque Teachers Federation, Full Bars, and Tim Montoya.
